¡Hola! These are pictures from yesterday at the school we are working at. In one of the clases, they taught us the folk dance called ¨el gato¨and we also tangoed a bit. They dressed us in the traditional clothing as you can see in the pictures and enjoyed watching the Americans try to dance! The five other people in the second picture our other AFSers...four of whom I traveled with and will travel home with.
Yesterday I also saw where my host dad works. He is a geologist and he works in a warehouse where there are tons of crates of rock that they take from the Andes. Today, I went to my host mom´s work. She is a history teacher for students in the last year of secondary school (high school.) Everyone asks if I have a boyfriend and if I go out dancing. They invited me to go bowling so we´ll see if that happens. Soon it´s lunch and then community service and I´ll write later!
Molly, this experience sounds so wonderful. Learning tango in Argentina - how special is that? I've been thinking about how cool it will be for you to be there if Argentina keeps advancing in the World Cup. I'm loving your posts. Kit
ReplyDeleteHi Kit! I´m glad that you´re enjoying my blog. I´m having a great experience and learning the tango will add to it. Sadly, Argentina lost in the World Cup today, I wanted them to win so bad. But all else it great!
